When a blogger asked: "What is it like to be a war veteran?"...
I thought of one in particular who was shot down over the Sea of Japan in WW11. He will never know what it's like to live as a veteran. Still, life goes on as evidenced this week when an American high school student told of her visit to Japan last summer with selected classmates for a learning experience regarding life in that country now. Japan is a far different country now in many ways than when they bombed Pearl Harbor and later shot down the plane over the Sea of Japan carrying my dear friend. Did he die in vain? While I still mourn his loss - I know that he DID NOT die in vain.
