Dozens of kayakers - newbies & the experienced - are holding classes in groups dotting Bay waters today.
It's an annual event prompting dozens of participants to come, with kayaks perched atop their cars.
As soon as they arrive, they unload their craft Bayside to prepare for weekend classes which actually began Thursday.
An instructor joins each group of newbies to train them in everything from maneuvering their craft to dumping and reboarding.
Apparently there's growing interest in the sport. There are more kayakers in town than in past years.
Luckily they're enjoying cool, cloudy weather for this active sport.
It can be exhausting out on the Bay when it's sunny & hot.

No comedien could stage a better show than the squirrel raiding a neighbor's bird feeder this morning.
First thing I saw was a fluffy tail draped over one side of the feeder's sloped roof.
Then suddenly appearing below the other side - its upside down head spitting seed residue to the ground.
By the time the thief had his fill, the bird feeder's nearly empty.
...meantime, the usual winged guests who dine in the more conventional way - stayed clear, although there's little doubt they were tempted to call 911!
