Life's Trip

WOULD YOU CHANGE LIFESTYLE, HOPING YOU'D LIVE TO 100 ?

If it came to giving up favorite habits, I'd find that hard to do. So, I attempt to compensate a bad habit of smoking, any way I can - with lots of fresh air walking and a good healthy diet.
All of which - may not - in the long run -work.
So far, it has; but who knows?
Anyway, while codgers are notorious for being 'set in their ways', I've found that folks of any age who are curious about new ways of doing things, have a zest for life, keeping their minds active, forward-looking - upbeat.
Diet, too, is vitally important - an understatement to be sure.
Living for the moment helps, too, rather than wasting time dwelling on negative experiences, long-past.
Hey, they're over ! Move on. Make the most of each new moment.

 DIRT -

My son loves digging deep and turning over new ground for a brand new garden, as he did this afternoon.
He calls it recreation, after the confining long winter months at his office plus on-the-road, job.
So, when it came time for his spring visit, he brought spinach seeds and rhubarb to plant in my yard, per Mom's special request.
As he broke ground and turned over the soil, a Spring breeze carried earth's rich, sweet fragrance, more pleasingly potent than perfume.
I look forward to the fruits of his labor.
Still, when it comes to Spring Planting, it is the unforgettable aromatic change in the air at the moment ground is broken.
Whatever else is happening in the world at that moment, gives way to hope.

 FRESH START ?

Would you like to get rid of all your 'stuff'?
Do you have clutter you could live without?
A Minnesota woman is selling most of her belongings at auction on e-bay, saying she's tired of lugging it all. every time she moves.
She'll keep only her pets, photos and some clothes.
While admitting that it's a mid-life decision, she says it's not a mid-life crisis.
The whole kit & kaboodle will be offered with a minimum bid of $2,000.

95 YEAR OLD GERMAN WOMAN CATCHES SERIAL THIEF -

Fed up with numerous thefts in her nursing home, she set a trap, leaving money out in plain view in her room.
She then hid in her bathroom with a phone, and waited.
When the cleaning lady showed up and pocketed the cash, the 95 year old called security.
They rushed to the scene; police came and arrested the home's cleaning lady.

 DOMINO EFFECT -

One reason to be turned off by politics, is the popular, fanatical method of die-hard party line followers who depend on the domino effect.
They'll grab a damaging, yet unproved statement about an opponent - spin it - spread it; then watch the chips fall.
