KNOCK-DOWN, DRAG OUT - ON ANOTHER BLOGGING SITE

It's a paying site where bloggers compete for clicks and popularity any way they can. This includes vicious personal attacks on other bloggers, misleading headlines, prolonged comment confrontations - all for a few extra clicks and the resulting few more pennies in the monthly pay check.
Unlike blogstream, bloggers must pay to participate.
All of this obliterates interest in the many fine posts on that site, as blogger fights win the attention craved with nothing more than nonsense, bringing out the worst of those actively involved in a truly meaningless struggle.
I am not a subscriber to that site; but am free to view comments and the first few lines of posts.
It is truly sad to observe good people with something interesting to read, obscured by a fighting few.
That is why I think that Blogstresm has the right idea with a free site, where, so far, I've read excellent posts with nothing here like that other site's ridiculous daily headlines and comment fights staged for meager money and puny power. All of that seems to bring out the worst in those involved.
Congratulations to Blogstream for a far better site.

 CHRISTMAS TREE SCARES TEEN !!

Last year, when an opossum peeked out from a Colorado family's Christmas tree, frightening a teenager, the tree was speedily thrown out into their yard.
This year, there will be an artificial tree.

NO WAY CAN SANTA KEEP UP WITH TEEN FASHION TRENDS !!

Teen parents, grandparents and department store buyers have no clue as to what the kids might wear next, according to an advertising exec.
One 15 year old claims her grandmother gives her clothes designed for a five year old.
Currently the baggy look is 'in'.

288,261 BREAD PUDDING LISTINGS ON GOOGLE ! How do YOU make it?

It's a comfort food, to be sure -a good way to use leftover bread.
This morning I made blueberry/walnut bread pudding. As it baked, I checked out Google for other bread pudding concoctions - for next time.
While many sweet bread pudding recipes were listed, I found several that make good main dishes.
One in particular is Spinach bread pudding with ham and cheese.
I'm always looking for new ways to use spinach, so will make that one asap.
One of the most simple, yet delicious-sounding sweet recipes - with brandy - was touted as Thomas Jefferson's favorite bread pudding.
NOTE: While whole grain breads are good for other uses, bread pudding is best when made with white bread.

STUDENTS BANISH N.J. PRINCIPAL TO COLD NIGHT ON ROOF -

A few months ago, New Jersey school principal, Scott Davies promised 700 students - K through 8th grade - they'd be rewarded with a prize of their choice if they read 10,000 books.
His motivational suggestion paid off big time!
They finished much sooner than expected - winter time.
True to his promise, he said they could ask for whatever they wanted.
Together they settled on a twofold reward. One: They shaved the school's logo on his head. Two: He should camp out on the school's roof overnight!
So, supplied with tent and sleeping bag, he set up camp in the cold, cold air, disturbed only by his own sleepless shivering and frequent visits from students and parents bearing hot chocolate and other goodies.
Would he do it again?
Yes, he said that if it encourages them to read, it was worth it. He'd do it again.
